Siouxland’s Choice 2025 nominees are set [Video]

For years and years, we’ve been told that it is an honor just to be nominated.

To which we say, yeah right!

The nominating phase for the 2025 Siouxland’s Choice Awards is now over. The voting phase will begin Dec. 9, continuing through Dec. 29.

For more than 20 years, The Sioux City Journal and the Weekender have wanted to recognize the best of the best.

That was the idea behind the Siouxland’s Choice Awards where we ask readers to weigh in on their favorite businesses and people.

Gotta tell ya, you guys are very opinionated.

According to advertising manager Tracy Simmons, there were 7,920 nominations, 186,070 votes and 16,945 participants from 2024’s Siouxland’s Choice Awards.

Back in November, you voted for favorite businesses and individuals in 124 categories.

Now comes the tricky part.

The top five vote-getters in each category will advance to the next phase.
