GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – Coming off Black Friday, this weekend continues to be a big one for holiday shopping, and today many people are staying local as part of a campaign launched in 2010, called Small Business Saturday.
When it comes to Small Business Saturday, it’s not just about shopping local, it’s also about connecting with neighbors.
Downtown Green Bay once again partnered with stores on Broadway Incorporated and Military Avenue Business District in a campaign to encourage you to spend on stores from your community.
”It’s really small businesses that really do end up being a life-blood to cities. So it’s a super important part to see people coming out and spending their money locally,” said Michael Hastreiter, co-owner of Kavarna.
According to the Small Business Administration, local shops were able to generate around $17 billion last year and over $200 billion since 2010.
