SEDA-COG reports on Perry County investments [Video]

Kim Wheeler, executive director of SEDA-COG, presented the organization’s 2023 annual activity report for Perry County at the commissioners’ June 10 meeting. SEDA-COG is an 11-county community and economic development organization that provides various services, including business development, community development, residential development and transportation planning. The presentation highlighted the organization’s assistance to businesses, community projects, housing weatherization and rehabilitation programs in Perry County.

In 2023, SEDA-COG assisted 11 Perry County businesses through its APEX Accelerator program, which facilitates private business sales to governmental agencies, and two businesses through its export assistance program. The organization spent $139,921 rehabilitating two Perry County homes, and $102,736 weatherizing 34 county homes. In community development, $273,822 was invested, and two community revitalization projects were undertaken. Watts Twp., Newport Cemetery, and Rye Twp. all utilized SEDA-COG’s information technology services for assistance with their websites.
