Schools, businesses announce delays, closures due to continued power outages [Video]

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – On Wednesday, several businesses and schools have announced delays or closings due to power outages caused by Tuesday night’s storm.

Around 10:45 p.m. on Tuesday there were 10,197 customers in Greenville County experiencing power outages.

Duke Energy said thousands of customers are without power in Greenville County.(Duke Energy)

The following schools, businesses and events have announced changes:

  • The Greenville Zoo will be closed on Wednesday.
  • Small Business & Economic Development Town Hall at the Prisma Health Welcome Center at Unity Park is cancelled.
  • Greenville County Administration Office will open at noon.
  • Greenville Middle Academy is without power but operating as normal. The district said power expected to be restored by noon.
  • Stone Academy is without power but operating as normal. The district said power expected to be restored by noon.
  • Cleveland Park Animal Hospital is closed until further notice.
