Schneider Electric to expand in Richland, Oconee counties of SC [Video]

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Based on a new report by the company’s Sustainability Research Institute that says the electrification of the US industry is expected to grow from 30 percent to 45 percent by 2030, Schneider Electric has announced it will be investing $23.8 million to “upgrade, modernize and maintain” its manufacturing plants in Richland and Seneca counties. 

In Seneca, Schneider will electrify that location’s heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system to enhance its efficiency and reduce costs advancing its own sustainability and decarbonization targets. 

The company will be adding 280 positions — 130 new jobs in Seneca, 150 new jobs at the Richland County site on Garners Ferry Road in Hopkins — over the course of the remainder of 2024.
