Journalist Tancredi Palmeri has hit back at Kevin De Bruyne after being called ‘stupid’ by the Manchester City star.
The Belgian midfielder went viral on Monday night after taking exception to a question from the reporter following their Euro 2024 exit at the hands of France.
After losing 1-0 due to a Jan Vertonghen own goal, Belgium were sent home from the Euros, putting an end to their hopes of claiming the trophy.
Palmeri, who works for SportItalia among others, asked De Bruyne about the failure of Belgium’s ‘golden generation’ over the last decade.
The ‘golden generation’ is with regards to the Belgian side that has featured stars including Thibaut Courtois, Vincent Kompany, Kevin De Bruyne, Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku and others who had been widely tipped to make a mark on world football.
