Houck was asked directly if he thinks he deserves a rotation spot.
“I think early on I pitched pretty well,” Houck replied. “After last year’s spring training, definitely took a step up. I didn’t feel I was fighting my delivery as much this year. And because of that I think I threw a lot more strikes earlier on. Right now, I struggled a little bit today with that (delivery). But that’s OK. I guess maybe a little bit but at the same time, you try not to think about it too much.”
