A brave group is ringing in the new year while wringing out their beach towels. The Red Hot Chilly Dippers meet often to plunge into Lake Champlain. Participants said Tuesday’s dip into the water was extra special. About 120 people joined in on the cold plunge at Oakledge Park in Burlington, Vermont. Some wore sparkly outfits and others did everything they could to keep warm. “It’s physical. It’s adrenaline. It’s serotonin. It’s the rush,” Red Hot Chilly Dipper founder Kath Montstream said.Plungers chose to leave the past in the lake and emerge with new goals for 2025.
