Pratt & Whitney expands Asheville plant, adding jobs and economic growth [Video]

BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. — Governor Josh Stein announced exciting news for Buncombe County. 

Pratt & Whitney, part of RTX, plans to expand its turbine airfoil manufacturing plant. The expansion will bring 325 new jobs and a $285 million investment to Asheville, solidifying confidence in western North Carolina’s economy.

“Western North Carolina remains an incredible place to work and do business, even after challenges like Hurricane Helene,” said Stein. “Pratt & Whitney recognizes our skilled workforce and opportunities.”

The company, a global leader in aircraft engine technology, aims to meet growing demand by increasing production capacity at its Asheville facility, which first opened in 2020.
