PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – As we approach the first big heat wave of the summer, it’s important to start preparing your home now. Starting Thursday, FOX 12′s weather team reports it’ll be above 90 degrees for around a week – maybe more.
Patrick Hoye at Ankeny Hardware in Southeast Portland said they’re well-prepared for the rush to buy AC units. They’ve been selling steadily all summer but they expect a crowd on Friday, because he said many customers typically wait until the last minute.
“We’ve had some good, brisk sales, and it’s going to continue on,” Hoye said. “As other places run out, we don’t run out, so they send us the people they can’t help.”
