Portable classroom at Jackson elementary school catches fire, major damage sustained [Video]

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Baker Elementary School on East Santa Clair Street caught fire Wednesday evening.

Jackson Fire Department was dispatched to the scene after a call reported the fire around 7:50 p.m.

One portable classroom was the starting point for the fire. This building is reportedly a total loss, according to JFD.

Two adjacent portable classrooms sustained major damage.

No injuries have been reported.

The cause and origin of the fire is currently under investigation by JFD.
