Pittsburgh Steelers to start Russell Wilson at quarterback against Buffalo Bills [Video]

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers will start Russell Wilson at quarterback against the Buffalo Bills on Saturday (7 p.m.) as long as he suffers no setbacks with his calf injury, head coach Mike Tomlin said.

The Steelers plan to play Wilson and the starters for roughly four series, but that could change based on what happens in the game. Wilson takes on the starting opportunity against the Bills after Justin Fields started against the Houston Texans.

Wilson is listed as the starter on the depth chart, so it would be no surprise to see him earn that job. Fields and Wilson each flipped as the first-team quarterback on Thursday during joint practice with Buffalo Thursday at Arcisure Stadium, the day after the Steelers broke training camp in Latrobe.

Wilson ended up as the first-team quarterback for more reps because he took the first-team reps in seven shots. Fields led the second team offense on a two-minute drive.
