Permit issues cause local business to temporarily close [Video]

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now)— Good NAtured, a newly opened local business has temporarily closed its doors due to some misunderstandings.

Shannon Ward saw the need for the community to have a non-alcoholic space, so she decided to make one.

Good NAtured opened earlier in October.

“So we’re really proud of offering a space where people can go and have fun and community without the influence of alcohol,” Ward explained,

That idea was going well, until earlier this week when Ward asked the city about expanding food options at Good NAtured.

Permitting issues were uncovered, which resulted in the business having to close promptly.

“It’s not me in any way, it was a misunderstanding and so the space should have been repurposed for the way that I’m using it and it was not. And now we’re going through that process,” Ward said. “There should have been something called a ‘Change of Use’ done on the space. I didn’t do that because I was not …
