DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) – Now that the Ozark Airport has its new corporate hangar, work has begun on the runway.
The hope is to lure corporate jets to Ozark — an effort helped by approximately $152,000 in federal funding.
Earlier this year, the airport opened its hangar doors for new opportunities with the addition of a 10,000 square foot hangar.
Now, the airport is taking its next steps in a plan to bring in more traffic from corporate aviation. The next milestone includes using the continued annual funding to keep improving the airport for future partnerships and business opportunities.
“We have one that’s coming that we’re going to be re-doing this area here – the paving that goes out to the airstrip. Well, we’re just gonna keep doing everything we can to attract people to the airport,” said Ozark Mayor Mark Blankenship.
