ROCHESTER, Minn.-The Historic Riverside building in Rochester has been home to several downtown businesses throughout the past few decades and thanks to grant funding from Destination Medical Center, it’s owners at Tinos LLC, hope to keep it in good shape to do that for years to come.
Bucky Beeman, co-owner of the building, says the building recently received $202,000 to help fund a complete remodeling of the roof, tuckpointing for its bricks and mortar and renovations to an aging bathroom in the basement.
In total Beeman says the project is expected to cost around $404,000.
The funding is coming from Destination Medical Center’s Infrastructure Investment Program for the Rochester Historic Preservation district, which is willing to provide up to $500,000 in funds for infrastructure projects in the district, as long as it is only covering around 50 percent of the costs.
