One-on-one with LPS superintendent ahead of 2024-25 school year [Video]

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The countdown is on to the start of the school year for students, families, and teachers. As Lincoln Public Schools puts the finishing touches on getting the classrooms ready, 10/11 NOW sat down with the superintendent for a preview of the school year.

Dr. Paul Gausman said his third year at the helm of LPS comes with a lot of excitement. When it comes to goals for the new year, Gausman said after spending the last year crafting a new strategic plan for the district, this year is about implementation.

“See the student growth and achievement that will come from that hard work,” Gausman said.

This year, he expects to see growth in areas like student behavior, as well as achievements – like growing the districts early childhood programing.
