Still, the Better Business Bureau warns shoppers to be cautious when making online purchases. Pamela Hernandez, the BBB’s regional director, advises people to take their time and do their research.
“If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. There’s going to be a lot of deals, a lot of ads on social media, things showing up in your email. And if it just sounds like it’s the greatest deal ever, if it just sounds too good to be true, you need to stop and do your research before you click on any links or hit buy,” said Hernandez.
You should be especially cautious about social media ads or shops on TikTok. These can often lead to fake sites, and you might not get what you’re paying for.
