OHS program Diamond in the Ruff helps foster dogs find homes [Video]

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – To fight slowing adoptions, the Oregon Human Society (OHS) started a new program called “Diamond in the Ruff.”

The program, launched in December, has helped 18 dogs find homes through a “foster to adopt” trial.

Diamond in the Ruff allows potential adopters to have a dog in their home for two weeks with regular check-ins, support and training advice. After two weeks, adopters can decide to move forward with an adoption, return the dog to OHS or continue to foster the dog.
