Hurricane Helene’s destruction stretches from Florida, through Georgia, and over to the east coast.

That means homes, businesses, and automobiles have either been damaged or totaled.

We’ve heard that storms that happen not only here but anywhere can impact insurance rates at home.

Louisiana Insurance Commissioner Tim Temple explained the potential impacts of Helene to the bottom-line for Louisiana residents to Tommy Tucker.

“The early numbers indicates that states affected had a number of policies and I don’t see it being as bad as it could have been.”

Temple says flooding is a different story but should largely impact the National Flood Insurance Protection Program.

“We shouldn’t see impacts to reinsurance which effects the policies for our property and possessions.”

However, we are still in storm season with predicted activity in the Gulf by the end of the week.
