BROAD BROOK, CT (WFSB) – A dog rescue story is always uplifting, but especially so during the holidays!
The Moore family in Broad Brook lost their dog, Trixie, when she backed out of her leash and ran away.
Fortunately, she never strayed too far from her neighborhood. However, it was still an excruciating experience trying to track her down.
“She came from an Amish Breeder in Ohio, they were looking for a home for her. I said I would love to give her a home and after about a month this ordeal happened,” said Lisa Moore.
After post signs and frantically looking for hours, she enlisted CT Dog Gone Recovery Volunteers. The group put forth an all-out effort trying to find Trixie.
“From Box Trap to Kennel traps to drop nets, and then we realized this dog didn’t like enclosures,” said Carol Ferrucci of the organization.
