MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – You can get the chance to meet New York Mets great and Mobile native Cleon Jones this Thursday, Aug. 29 at the Mobile Regional Airport.
Jones will be signing copies of his book, “Coming Home: My Amazin’ Life with the New York Mets.”
Travel retailer Hudson is hosting the event Thursday from noon until 1:30 p.m.
Jones played 13 season in Major League Baseball, winning a World Series with the 1969 “Miracle Mets.”
We’re told Jones is a part of the Last Out Community Foundation where he works to refurbish and build affordable homes, combat blight and provide positive youth programs for the Africatown community.
