New grant program offering financial support to businesses in Aroostook County [Video]

AROOSTOOK COUNTY, Maine (WAGM) – New financial support is coming to businesses in Aroostook County.

The Southern Aroostook Development Corporation in collaboration with the Northern Maine Development Commission, are launching the Micro enterprise Grant Program.

It aims to support new business development in Southern Aroostook.

The program offers grants of up to $10,000 to eligible businesses established after January 1, 2020.

Johanna Johnston is the Executive Director of the Southern Aroostook Development Corporation.

“We’re looking for businesses that have not received grant funding in the last 24 months. So, we want to address new businesses or businesses that have not taken advantage of the HUB program yet and we’re also looking for confidence in their business plan.
