In the Syracuse 4-H building, the sewing machines were displayed among tables of fabric that were collected by Bette Boellstorff, who was an avid seamstress.
Colonel Liz Hunt is a fifth-generation auctioneer who grew up in Maryville, Missouri. She auctioned off hundreds of sewing machines and accessories in Syracuse.
