N.J. weather: Thunderstorm threats in weekend forecast after 2 dry, pleasant days [Video]

Two dry, less humid days are ahead for New Jersey ahead of a weekend of unsettled weather that includes thunderstorm threats on both Saturday and Sunday.

The last of the rain has pushed off the coast Thursday morning after strong storms lashed the state Wednesday evening and overnight, but more than 70,000 homes and businesses remain without power as of 7 a.m., according to NJ Advance Media’s outage tracker.

A woman in Bergen County was seriously hurt when a tree crashed through her home during the storms Wednesday evening.

Muggy conditions are expected to last through the morning before giving way to lower humidity in the afternoon under mainly sunny skies and highs in the 80s.

Pleasant, dry conditions continue through the overnight when temps fall into the 60s.

Friday should also be uneventful with more sun and highs in the mid-to-upper 80s.
