FLINT, Mich. (WJRT) – After outrage and concern over Mott Community College’s presidential search, Tuesday night’s meeting gave faculty and staff a little hope.
The college’s board of trustees agreed to conduct a national search before appointing a permanent president.
In July, Shaunda Richardson-Snell was appointed as the school’s interim president. While trustees approved Snell’s hiring, many faculty and staff were upset because she doesn’t have any background in education.
Normally, Mott Community College would conduct a nationwide search for a new president. But the board of trustees voted not to hire an outside firm to help with the process.
Instead, board members voted to appoint an ad hoc committee to lead the search for a permanent president and limit it to seeking candidates only …
