Mixology at Home Infusing Spirits [Video]

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – We have had some wins and defeats on Mixology at Home. This includes several attempts at infusing spirits. Those attempts haven’t deterred mixologist Jack Siebold to go back behind the bar to find an infusion that works well with an alcoholic beverage.

This time, he used an infusion blend from a company called One Part. The infusion mixture is called Barrel Blend which includes several exotic teas, dark wuyi, puerh, wood dragon, dandelion root, clove, and vanilla rooibos.

Here are the ingredients for a Bourbon Tea and Honey Old Fashioned:

  • 2 oz tea-infused bourbon
  • ½ oz honey syrup
  • 1 dash orange bitter or aromatic bitters

Instructions:

  1. Add two ounces of tea-infused bourbon into a mixing glass
  2. Pour in the half ounce of honey syrup and the dash off orange bitter or aromatic bitters (whichever you chose) into the mixing glass
  3. Add ice, and begin to stir
