Troy Harmon was attempting to make a left turn off Highway 99E in Hubbard when another driver slammed into him.
HUBBARD, Ore. — On Monday, Troy Harmon was on his way home from work, commuting from Woodburn back to Milwaukie. While on Highway 99E just before 5 p.m., he planned to stop and fuel up at a gas station in Hubbard, and while waiting to make the left turn, another driver slammed into the back of his truck.
“I heard this loud, whining noise, like really loud, like tires on pavement, and then all of a sudden — just impact,” he said, “It launched my truck, maybe 300 or 400 feet forward.”
The impact also launched Harmon’s tools from the bed of the truck through the rear windshield — including a heavy pipe wrench, which struck him in the back of the head.
