Mayor Williams addresses City Council letter, asks members to stop delaying Broad Street Market construction [Video]

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — Harrisburg Mayor Wanda R.D. Williams has responded to a letter sent to news media on Monday concerning the July 23 emergency declaration at the Broad Street Market.

Mayor Williams asked members of the Harrisburg City Council to stop coming up with ways to delay construction in the following statement:

On July 23, Mayor Williams declared a State of Emergency to address a public health issue of rats at the Broad Street Market Brick Building. The City of Harrisburg says Mayor Williams used Title 3 Section 355.1 in the Harrisburg City Code to declare the emergency and the decision was afforded to her by Title 11 Section 203 of the Pennsylvania Third Class City Code, which states:
