MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man has been arrested and is facing several charges following a “crisis intervention/kidnapping complaint” call on Thursday, according to the Bartlett Police Department (BPD).
Officers said they responded to the call and set up a perimeter around the scene at the 4100 block of Luther Road around 4 p.m. on Dec. 26.
Police were on scene for hours resolving the situation. John Langevine, eventually surrendered without incident.
Police reported they entered the home and found dead person. A preliminary investigation revealed the person to be Langevine’s mother.
Langevine was taken to the Bartlett jail, where he is currently booked on charges of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated domestic assault, and convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
Additional charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
The investigation is ongoing, according to BPD.
