Lucas Oil Stadium aims to reduce carbon footprint by 50% [Video]

Initiatives implemented at the home of the Colts are aimed at reducing their carbon footprint by 50%.

INDIANAPOLIS — Lucas Oil Stadium is working to reduce its carbon footprint by more than 50% this season.

Reducing trash from a 70,000-fan event is no easy feat. 

This season, everyone who buys a drink will get a reusable souvenir plastic cup. The hope is fans will take them home instead of throwing them away.

Also new this year, the stadium is growing its own vegetables in gardens on several patio spaces. It’s not going to feed everyone, but it’s a start to their going green initiative.
