NEW ORLEANS — A Northshore woman who watched so many friends lose their homes in Hurricane Katrina when she was in junior high is now experiencing it herself.
Lana Galaforo, only in her early 30s, says she has been living her dream in paradise for the last three years in Southern California. The Hammond transplant works in the film industry as a painter on reality shows. She and several others rent rooms in an 1890s home in Altadena. Recently, she was working on a set in Georgia when her partner Facetimed her.
