HAZEL GREEN, Ala. — Two months ago, we introduced you to Paul D’Agostin, a local veteran who spent 17 years in service, deploying to Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan. Paul is now medically retired.
In May, BeArded WARRIORs and The Home Depot Foundation teamed up to give Paul a home upgrade. However, not even a week after construction closed up, a severe storm came through the area.
“The tornado came in not even a week later and it just devastated pretty much everything they put their hard work into,” Paul says.
Images of the damage shows powerlines tilted; buildings crushed by fallen-down trees. But before Paul could have time to think, his family was already receiving calls from the people who just helped him out.
Paul’s Wife, Angela D’Agostin, says, “They contacted us within a couple of hours in the morning and checked on us and had somebody out the next day to help.”
