LIST: School closures, asynchronous days in Central Georgia for winter weather [Video]

These are the Central Georgia schools closing or changing their plans Friday as Georgia braces for potential winter weather.

MACON, Ga. — Some Central Georgia school districts have announced their plans ahead of potential winter weather set to arrive in the area on Friday.

The weather, which is being caused by a low-pressure system, could bring winter precipitation like freezing rain or sleet on Friday.

On Wednesday, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp announced that state offices north of Macon, Augusta and Columbus will be closed on Friday and employees will work from home. State offices in those cities will also be closed. 

Houston County schools are open today.

Here are the schools that have announced their closures or move to asynchronous learning for Friday.

Hancock County Schools: Students will have asynchronous learning on Friday, the district announced on its website. Students will receive assignments on Thursday along with a bagged breakfast/lunch.
