Walmart, the largest retailer in the U.S., is set to open at several new locations in 2025 as part of its ambitious American expansion plan.
“In the next five years, Walmart is planning to build or convert more than 150 stores,” Walmart CEO John Furner said last January, “while simultaneously continuing our program to remodel existing stores.”

In addition to improving access to everyday essentials for underserved areas near its new stores, Walmart promotes its expansion as a boost to local communities by supporting suppliers, driving economic growth and generating jobs.
Walmart’s CEO said that the company brings “hundreds of jobs” to a community with each new store opening, adding: “Those jobs come with amazing perks, like tuition-free college starting on day one, or flexible scheduling and competitive paid time off.”
