LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Dozens of people with missing loved ones from across the state and county gathered at the First Christian Church for a ceremony of commemoration for the first annual Missing Persons Day in Nebraska.
The morning service on Thursday consisted of tearful testimonials, with a trail commemorating the hundreds of missing people who never came home leading up to the pulpit.
Family and friends of missing loved ones told 10/11 News that they found comfort in the company of each other, working through their shared griefs.
“I can’t imagine dying without having an answer, but it’s very uplifting knowing that all of us here share those same things. We all have the same grief. You know, we all have the same questions,” Lonnie Goodrich, whose son has been missing for almost a year, said.
