Legal street racing event draws thousands in Atlanta [Video]

Street racing has always been a huge problem in metro Atlanta, but two businessmen have a legal solution to keep police working their beats and young people enjoying their passion.

It’s called Sunday Funday, and organizers say more than a thousand people turned out.

“We are trying to take the sliding cars off the streets and bring them to a safe haven,” stunt driver Str. Polo explained. 

“Organized Chaos” hosted the event that attracted hundreds of spectators to a warehouse parking lot in Clayton County. It’s donuts and burning rubber, instead of getting chased by police officers on the real streets of Atlanta.

Stunt driver Polo finally learned his lesson. “I was younger, I was in the streets doing all this stuff, but as I get my car, impounded, getting incarcerated. It just takes too much money,” he recalled.

Lawmakers consider Texas firefighting Air Force [Video]

Texas state lawmakers are considering a plan to create a Lone Star Air Force to battle wildfire outbreaks. The operators of an aerial firefighting company were at the Capitol Thursday to help get the idea off the ground. FOX 7 Austin's chief political reporter Rudy Koski has more.
