Knoxville Fire responded to a house fire on Catalpa Avenue Monday morning.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Fire Department is working to determine what caused the fire at a home on Catalpa Avenue Monday morning.
Around 8:43 a.m., officials responded to East Knoxville on reports of a house fire. The caller said that there was fire coming from behind the house.
After arriving at the scene, KFD saw heavy fire and smoke coming from two windows of the house. They said the fire was discovered in a bedroom.
Crews were able to extinguish the fire within minutes of arriving on the scene.
According to KFD, four people, two adults and two children, were at home at the time of the fire and escaped without injury.
The house suffered significant smoke, water and fire damage throughout.
