Jennifer Maready retires as City of Wilmington finance director [Video]

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Jennifer Maready’s last day as finance director for the City of Wilmington will be on Dec. 12.

A seasoned financial leader with over 20 years of experience in both the public and private sectors, she was finance director since May 2016 and previously served as Deputy Chief Financial Officer for New Hanover County.

Maready also held several key roles at public accounting firms RSM US LLP and Cherry Beakert & Holland.

She played a crucial role in managing the county’s fiscal operations, investments, debt, grants, and capital projects as well as focusing on client relationships, audit planning, and staff development at the firms.

Wilmington City Council appointed Martha Wayne as the new director.
