It’s time Albemarle County ban open burning [Video]

It’s years past when Albemarle County should have long ago banned all open burning, including business and commercial burning.

We have once again this week have endured two mornings of smoke smells and fumes from open burning on Bleak House Road in the Earlysville area. Have no idea where it’s coming from, but again we are restricted to closing up our house and breathing stale, artificially conditioned air; wasting energy drying clothes in an electric dryer instead of hanging laundry out in free, fresh air; and also worrying about our health while in our yard the few minutes we can tolerate being outside in the foul air the Albemarle Board of Supervisors allows the few to inflict upon the many.

Have some courage! For the lives, rights and comforts of all residents. Pass an ordinance banning all open outdoor burning in Albemarle County.
