It was terrifying: Man facing OVI, several other charges after police say he drove into a Vermilion home [Video]

CLEVELAND, Ohio – A Lorain man is facing several charges after police say he drove his car into the side of a Vermilion home earlier this week.

Paul Carrion, 38, was charged with operating a vehicle while impaired, obstructing official business and leaving the scene of an accident, according to court records and jail listings. Carrion was booked into the Lorain County Jail, but as of Friday afternoon, he was no longer listed as an inmate there.

“It was terrifying, to say the least,” said Lynne MacLean, who was with her husband inside the home when the crash took place. “I thought someone had hit one of our vehicles. I couldn’t comprehend what had happened.”

The accident happened about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday when a silver Dodge Charger drove down Overlook Road and attempted to make a left turn onto Berkley Road, according to a press release from Vermilion police.
