For the sixth year in a row Ireland is the world’s most generous country, topping the charts of GoFundMe’s 2024 Year in Help Report.
The crowdfunding platform revealed that almost €50mwas raised for countless life-changing causes across Ireland this year.
From charity funding to supporting families in crisis, the nation’s spirit of giving has never been more evident.
In 2024, more than 15,000 fundraisers were launched across Ireland, with more than 850,000 donations.
Globally, an average of two donations were made every second.
Galway emerged as the country’s most generous county. Limerick were next in line, followed by Cork and Waterford, with Dublin rounding out the top five.
The generosity of the West of Ireland, in particular, has been truly remarkable, with communities rallying together to support both local and international causes.
