Iowa City Senior Center becomes new pick-up spot for online farmer’s market orders [Video]

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) – For the next several Thursdays the alleyway beside the Iowa City Senior Center is serving as a new pick-up location for Field to Family’s virtual market.

The goal is to make a more accessible opportunity for people to get fresh produce. By placing the pick-up center at the senior center, people who use the center or stay at the Ecumenical Tower senior home can take advantage.

Customers must place their orders Sunday through Tuesday by using Field to Family’s website. No food is being sold from the pick-up stand, they will only be fulfilling online orders that were made in advance.

The new location could be ideal for seniors, who won’t even have to leave their cars when picking up their food.
