Former fire chief Ken Washer was charged with Battery after he repeatedly went to a woman’s home and then slapped her rear-end according to court documents.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — An interim fire chief has taken over in Madison, Indiana after their chief was indicted on a battery charge and then resigned the mayor’s office confirmed.

Former fire chief Ken Washer was charged with Battery after he repeatedly went to a woman’s home and then slapped her rear-end according to court documents.

The woman claimed Washer came to her home several times while the street department was working on a project nearby, documents showed. She also said Washer called her “baby girl” and made her feel uncomfortable.

According to those documents, Washer told investigators he had spoken with the woman several times but had never touched her butt.

He started working as the fire chief in April 2022.
