IMPD SWAT arrests man after standoff on Indy’s east side [Video]

INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD officers have a man in custody after he allegedly fired a shot at another person, ran away from the scene and then barricaded himself inside of a home Tuesday morning on the southeast side of Indianapolis.

Officers believe the shots fired call happened in the 7200 block of East Raymond Street, near South Hunter Road, around 10 a.m. July 9.

“They spoke to a victim, and they quickly located a suspect. Unfortunately, that suspect fled from our officers on foot,” IMPD Officer Amanda Hibschman said.

IMPD then set up a perimeter on Chesterhill Lane, near East Raymond Street and South Franklin Road on the east side of Indianapolis, using drones and swat.
