Mocksville was in competition for the bid with a site in South Carolina.
MOCKSVILLE, N.C. — Lithuanian factory maker SBA Group will build a new factory in Mocksville that will hire 250 people by the year 2029, according to the Triad Business Journal.
According to the North Carolina Department of Commerce, Mocksville’s primary competition for the new factory was a site in Cherokee County, South Carolina. The town and Davie County offered SBA Group around $800,000 in incentive packages.
The company was also awarded a state economic development grant of $1.9 million. The plan is for SBA Group to invest over $50 million of its own funds to build the 500,000-square-foot facility.
According to the Department of Commerce, the minimum average wage for the newly created jobs will be $53,470.
