Idaho Vandals quarterback undergoes surgery for injury | Idaho Vandals Sports [Video]

PULLMAN, Wash. — Idaho Vandals starting quarterback was injured during Saturday’s game against Oregon.

According to Idaho Vandals’ foot head coach, Jack Layne suffered a collarbone injury and underwent surgery.

Eck said this is not a season-ending injury, but there is no timeline for Laynes’ return.

Replacing Layne is redshirt freshman Jack Wagner.

Wagner made his first appearance in 2023 against Idaho State where he threw for one touchdown.

Eck also said Layne plans on traveling with him with the team and will help on the coaching side.

“He’s got a great attitude. He usually eats healthy, and I told him he deserves some ice cream or something,” said Eck.
