Ice maker catches fire inside Boston’s Fenway Park [Video]

Firefighters responded to Fenway Park on Saturday morning after a piece of food service equipment caught fire inside the Boston landmark. Fire officials said the situation involved an ice maker. Responding firefighters extended ladder trucks up to the roof of the historic ballpark. “There was fire coming from a water cooler that made ice and it extended to the ceiling and the sprinkler was activated,” explained Chief Darrell Higginbottom of the Boston Fire Department. Staff and a youth group were evacuated. Crews said the fire was knocked down within minutes of their arrival. Red Sox spokesperson Justin Long explained it happened at a concession stand near Gate D.
