No one was injured after one shot was fired inside the store by a 17-year-old Walmart employee following an altercation with two other people, according to police.
HOLLAND, Ohio — People are going about their business outside the Walmart on South McCord Road in Holland Tuesday morning, less than 24 hours after a gunshot echoed from the home goods section.
“It just seems like today, nowadays, you can’t go anywhere,” said frequent customer Glenn Hoffman.
The first reports of shots fired came in just after 4 p.m. on Monday. According to Holland police, Lawrence Payne III and Simeon Payne, both adults, approached a 17-year-old Walmart employee and started a fight. The teen then pulled out a gun and chased the other two suspects with it inside the store.
“We do know at least one shot was fired, but it could be up to three,” said Holland police Chief James Piotrowski.
