Historic blacksmith shop in Hart reaches GoFundMe cleanup goal; Still raising funds to rebuild after fire [Video]

HART, Mich. — A historic blacksmith shop in Hart was devastated on July 1 when a fire heavily damaged it. The shop started a GoFundMe asking for the community’s help in funding the cleanup and rebuilding after the fire. That initial goal was reached in just over 24 hours, the shop said they are “amazed and humbled,” at the support.

The fire started at a neighbor’s shed and spread to the shop. The shop said in their GoFundMe that they unfortunately did not have insurance to help with the costs.
