Free lunches for Bay State public school students, free community college, expanded financial aid, and more money for the MBTA.

Those are just some of the programs and initiatives that will benefit from the $1.3 billion in funding from Massachusetts’ “Millonaire’s Tax” that the majority-Democrat Legislature included in a $58 billion compromise budget approved Friday.

The spending plan, which crossed the finish line 19 days after the start of the new fiscal year on July 1, still needs a signature from Gov. Maura Healey, also a Democrat.

Healey has 10 days to veto or offer amendments to the sprawling fiscal blueprint, which also boosts aid to municipalities and spends more money on transportation projects.
